The SURRI team gathered at the Technical University of Liberec, Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation, for the Final Project Meeting. It brought together project partners to review achievements, discuss future opportunities, and close three years of research, internships and transfer of knowledges.
What did it include?
The three-day event was an opportunity to reflect on achievements, share insights, and strengthen partnerships for future research.
The meeting began on Monday, November 24th, with the arrival of participants, an informal introductory session, and a welcome dinner that set the tone for collaborative discussions.
On Tuesday, November 25th, the program opened with a warm welcome and an overview of the project’s objectives and achievements by Prof. M. Černík. Partners then presented highlights from each work package, showcasing key results, deliverables, and milestones. A dedicated session reviewed the project’s impact against KPIs, followed by discussions on exploitation strategies, intellectual property rights, and sustainability plans. Advisory Board members´ comments and remarks were shared during this session, providing valuable feedback and recommendations for future directions. Afterward, the group enjoyed lunch and departed for an afternoon networking visit to Crytur Turnov, exploring advanced materials and future cooperation opportunities. The day concluded with a festive project dinner.
The final day, Wednesday, November 26th, featured a cultural excursion to the historic Harrachov Glassworks, where participants toured the glassmaking facilities, enjoyed lunch together, and officially closed the meeting.
This event marked the successful conclusion of SURRI – a project dedicated to advancing sustainable remediation of radionuclide impacts on land and critical materials recovery. While the project has ended, its impact will continue through future collaborations and innovations.
Thank you to all partners for making SURRI a success.
